Cutter checks the outer silhouette. Stamp types also check for separated internal details.
Auto keeps the existing outline. Silhouette follows the subject more closely and joins separate parts into one shape. The cutter and stamp use matching outlines.

Thicker outlines grow outward. Inner details keep their size; overall dimensions increase.
